What is covered by the bursary:
The tuition fee for the specific program that the student is registered for; these fees vary based on the field of study (e.g. engineering; medical; art; history, etc.) and the institution to which the student is admitted. AND, based on qualifying, subsidized housing and living expenses, including food. The bursary money is for the duration of your studies and does not have to be paid back. A beneficiary must sign an NSFAS Bursary Agreement with terms and conditions after qualifying for the NSFAS bursary. Beneficiaries will thereafter be expected to:
• Meet all academic standards laid forth by their respective institutions.
• Attend and participate in all required lectures, tutorials, and academic support programs; • Complete all set assignments and/or tasks as required in terms of the Institution’s due performance requirements; • Pass all tests and examinations (written and oral) as required in terms of the Institution’s due performance requirements.
