Entry requirements

For admission to higher certificate or diploma programs, prospective students must achieve the legislative minimum standards, which are based on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or analogous school leaving certificate, as well as the candidate’s educational certificate.

Provisional admission will be granted based on the levels/symbols achieved in the Grade 12 June/September tests or proof confirming the current job is processing study leave.
The applicant’s final Grade 12 grades, confirmation that the application has been granted study leave by the employer, and that the applicant has not reached the pensionable age (55-60) applicable to all college students will all be taken into account when making the final decision to enroll.
The criteria for each specialized program are different. The Admission Point System (APS) is used to assign point values to NSC or related subjects:

Please keep in mind that admission requirements are subject to change, and the college:

Will heavily invest in nurses for ECDoH institutions;
will not invest in individuals who have attempted alternative paths, such as dropping out of universities/technikons/colleges;
Candidates with alternative qualifications will not be considered. If this is discovered at any stage during the process, the candidate will be disqualified.
