About Standard Healthcare Services, College of Nursing

The College of Nursing of Standard Healthcare Services, Inc. (Standard College) is a privately held institution in Falls Church, Virginia.
The college is committed to excellence in nursing education and practice in all areas. Standard College was created in 2004 by Dr. Isibor Joy Nosegbe, DNP, MSN-Ed, RN, CNE, CLNC, who is also the college’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
In 2011, the State Council for Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) designated the school as a college. Standard Healthcare Services College of Nursing was the name at the time (Standard College).

Programs

The Practical Nursing (PN) program and the LPN to RN Transition (LPN to RN) program are the two nursing programs offered at the university. After completing the Practical Nursing program, students will receive a diploma.
After completing the LPN to RN Transition program, students will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree. Both nursing education programs are career-oriented and designed to help students develop the skills, abilities, attitudes, behaviors, and ethics that will lead to employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
When the first class was admitted in 2007, the PN program was formed as a stand-alone pre-licensure practical nursing program. The Virginia Board of Nursing authorized the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (LPN to RN Transition Program) in May 2011. In 2012, the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Services (ABHES) granted Standard College institutional accreditation.
Standard College was given pre-accreditation candidacy status for both programs by the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) on June 14, 2019.
