A brief on Sedibeng TVET College

Sedibeng TVET College is a government-run institution in Sedibeng, South Africa that is part of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The institution was founded in April 2002 when the technical colleges of Lekoa (now Sebokeng), Vereeniging, and Vanderbijlpark merged. In 2007, the institution launched a satellite campus in Heidelberg. Nated Report 191 Business and Engineering Studies and National Certificate Vocational (NC (V)) Business and Engineering Studies are two ministerially supported and recognized programs offered by the Sedibeng TVET College. In addition, the college offers occupational programs that have been approved by numerous Sectors for Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).

Sedibeng TVET College Nsfas Application

National Student Support is a government of South Africa student financial aid program that provides financial assistance to underprivileged undergraduate students to help pay for their higher education fees. The Department of Higher Education and Training funds the NSFAS.

Interested learners must APPLY ONLINE at www.nsfas.org.za and log into their myNSFAS account to study at the College under the NSFAS Bursary.

NSFAS bursaries are “loans” that must be repaid. When the student finds work and earns R80,000 or more per year, the loan payback begins. In the event of unemployed students, the repayment might be deferred until the candidate finds work.

Date of opening

Nsfas Online Application Opens 1 September and closes November 30.

Documents applicable 

Original copies of identification documents/birth certificates, as well as the most recent academic results

Proof of parental income (if both parents are working)

Certificates of Death (if one or both parents have died)

Certificate from a doctor (If permanently disabled)

How to apply

-Please visit the NSFAS website – nsfas.org.za 

-Please ensure that you have the correct documents (certified not older than 3 months) in electronic format available:

    • Your South African ID or a birth certificate( if you do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card)
    • ID of parents and/or guardian or death certificate where applicable.

– Letter of employment/ income slip of parents and/or guardian (SASSA slips are not
required and SASSA should not be included as household income

-Please ensure that you download the CONSENT FORM and it is completed by your parent/s and or guardian -this has to be attached to your Application form
