Brief information about Northlink TVET College Nsfas Application

The National Department of Higher Education is in charge of this project (DHET). The DHET was established in 2009 to further the national objective of a well-coordinated, comprehensive, and differentiated post-secondary education system. This post-secondary education system must contribute to people’s lives, the national economy, and the building of a just and capable South Africa. The DHET will fulfill its mission by successfully organizing, regulating, funding, and coordinating post-secondary education and vocational training possibilities, particularly for our country’s youth. The upcoming passage of the TVET Colleges Amendment Bill will result in a shift in functions linked to the colleges.

Items Needed to Apply

Certified copies of the following documents

  • SA identity document/card or an unabridged birth certificate
  • ID’s of parents/guardians or death certificates (where applicable)
  • ID’s of each person living with you in your home
  • Pay advice/letter of employment/pension advice ( not older than 3 months)
  • If you have a disability, please download the Disability Annexure A and fill it in

Nsfas Opening Date for New Application

Nsfas Online Application Opens from 1st September to November 30.

When and how to apply for NSFAS

Each year, from the beginning of August until the end of November, online applications (www.nsfas.org.za) are accepted.

Because communication is done via cell phone, applicants are recommended to maintain their phones on them at all times.

Signatures of both the applicants and their parents/guardians are required on the consent form.

Application Instructions:

-Please visit the NSFAS website at nsfas.org.za or visit our website at https://www.northlink.co.za for further information.

-For assistance, you can go to any Buffalo City TVET College Campus — Student Support Service.

-Please make sure you have the relevant documentation in electronic format (certified within the last three months).

A birth certificate or your South African ID ( if you do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card)

If relevant, show your parents’ and/or guardians’ identification or a death certificate.

– A pay stub, a statement of employment, or a pension stub showing the income of the parents and/or guardians (SASSA slips are not acceptable).

SASSA should not be added as a requirement.
