Brief on Maluti TVET College 

Maluti TVET College is a Technical Vocational Education and Training institution under the Department of Higher Education and Training’s umbrell founded On September 1st, 2002. Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for the Free State Department of Education (FSDoE) merged the former Colleges of Education (Bonamelo, Sefikeng) and Technical Colleges (Itemoheleng, Bethlehem, Kwetlisong, and Lere la Tshepe) to form one Maluti Technical Vocational Education and Training College.
There are eight (8) camps at the college.

Although the college does not provide bursaries to students, the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) does so through the DHET TVET Bursary scheme. Through TVET colleges, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) oversees bursary applications on behalf of the DHET.

The bursary is not guaranteed to anyone. Only those who match the conditions set forth in the DHET Bursary Guideline 2015 will be considered; funds permitting.

Open date

The online application for the Nsfas opens on September 1, and finishes on November 30,

For the NSFAS application, the following documents are required;

Original copies of identification documents and birth certificates are required.
Academic Results from the Start (If your parents are working, provide the most recent proof of their income.)
If your parents’ or guardians’ salary advice slips are more than three months old, your bursary application will be rejected.

Certificates of Death (if one or both parents have died)

Certificate from a doctor (If permanently disabled)

How to Apply

1.Acquire the online application form and fill it out.

2.Add your South African ID or a birth certificate (if you don’t have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card), as well as the IDs of your parents and/or guardians and, if applicable, a death certificate.

3.Submit a pay receipt, a letter of employment, or a pension stub showing the parents’ and/or guardians’ income is necessary.

4. Please make sure the CONSENT FORM  is downloaded and signed by your parent(s) or guardian(s) – it must be attached to your Application form – see the reverse side for more info.
