About GWK Ben Scholtz Bursary Fund

GWK is a major player in the agriculture industry, and it is one of the country’s largest and most diverse agribusinesses. The company’s only goal is to improve people’s lives, including the lives of employees, farmers, and consumers.

GWK is divided into 3 sub-sectors:

  • GWK Agri is a company that gives solutions to farmers by assisting them from start to finish. GWK delivers inputs, solutions, and other services to farmers.
  • Consumers are connected to their food suppliers through GWK Farm Foods (farmers). Consumer needs are taken into account by GWK, and the finest quality items are produced.
  • GWK Trading is dedicated to developing the greatest domestic and international markets for its products. GWK handles the trade of its farmers’ products and creates a smooth trade channel for them to keep producing.
Fields of study
Bursaries will be awarded by the GWK Ben Scholtz Bursary Fund to students who want to study for a career option inside GWK or for rare talents, such as:
  • Agricultural Economists
  • Agriculturists
  • Buyers
  • Grain Procurers
  • Programmers
  • Safex traders

Eligibility criteria

Before applying, applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria (please note that if you do not meet all of the requirements, your application will be rejected):

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Good academic record
  • Studying or intend on studying in one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or intend on studying at a recognized tertiary institution in SA

  • Fees involved in your selected course (including registration fees, tuition, and prescribed books)

Note: 

The bursary only covers registration, class, and book fees

– Closing date for application – 31 August

– Feedback regarding successful applications will be provided annually on 31 October
