About College of Nursing and Allied Health – South Texas College

  • South Texas College, founded in 1993, provides over 127 degree and certificate programs, including associate degrees in liberal arts, social science, business, math, science, technology, advanced manufacturing, and allied health.
  • South Texas College is also the only community college in Texas that offers five baccalaureate degrees. The college’s five campuses, two higher education centers, and one virtual campus are served by a faculty and staff of more than 2,200 people.
  • Since its inception in 2000, the Dual Credit Programs have benefited 118,000 high school students from 70 high school partners, saving families more than $280 million in tuition costs.

Admission requirements

  • South Texas College accepts students under the criteria of STC Board Policy 3200. Admission to the College as a whole does not entail acceptance into all of the College’s programs. According to Texas Education Code Section 51.331, the College conforms fully with the state-mandated Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Rules.
  • South Texas College students must follow the state-mandated Texas Success Initiative Rules (TSI) and the South Texas College Developmental Education Plan when it comes to testing requirements.
  • The College is dedicated to student success and providing a high-quality education to all students. On the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, gender, disability, genetic information, or veterans status, no person shall be excluded from participation in, denied benefits from, or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity sponsored or conducted by South Texas College.
