About Clarkson College

  • For more than 130 years, Clarkson College has taught students to provide high-quality, ethical, and compassionate health care services. Our commitment to academic excellence began in 1888 when the Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital took on its first nursing student. Meliora Clarkson carried out the vision of her late husband, Bishop Robert H. Clarkson, and led the hospital to glory by creating the first nursing school in the state of Nebraska.
  • By the end of the nineteenth century, the school had established a reputation for producing skilled, professional nurses who excelled in their fields.
  • Clarkson College is proud to continue the tradition of excellence by graduating over 350 health care professionals each year in Nursing, Healthcare Education and Leadership, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography, Medical Imaging, Healthcare Business and Administration, Health Information Management, and Community Health.
  • The services and care offered by our students and graduates continue Bishop Clarkson’s goal of caring for our community and neighbors.
