A brief on Central Johannesburg TVET College 

Central Johannesburg TVET College (CJC) was founded on September 11, 2003, at our Alexandra campus, by the late Minister, Prof. Kadar Asmal, who launched the landscape for the then Further Education and Training (FET) sector. The current Minister, Dr. Blade Nzimande, altered the name of FET to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The College is one of South Africa’s 50 public TVET colleges, which are overseen by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). In Gauteng, there are eight TVET colleges.
Ellis Park, Parktown, Alexandra, Riverlea, Langlaagte, Crown Mines, Smit Street, and Troyville are the College’s eight campuses. There are eight campuses in all.

NSFAS is a financial assistance program that helps South African students pay for their higher education by offering financial aid. The Department of Higher Education and Training is responsible for its funding.

NSFAS is a state agency under the Department of Higher Education and Training’s jurisdiction. NSFAS offers study bursaries to qualified students who want to attend TVET colleges or public universities.

Who can apply 

First-time Applicants to Central Johannesburg TVET College Central Johannesburg TVET College students changing to a new qualification and/or speciality
Students who completed a higher certificate or any other program and intend to continue with additional undergraduate studies did not register students who previously applied for admission and were not provided a space or who were offered a space and accepted the offer.

Nsfas Online Application Opens for applicants on  1 September and closes November 30.

How to apply

Procedures to follow to apply Central Johannesburg TVET College Nsfas Application ;

  • Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and answer the questions on the screen
