About Bushbuckridge Local Municipality Bursary

  • The Bushbuckridge Local Municipality was called after the enormous herds of bushbuck that have been sighted in the area, as well as the WNW-ESE ridge, which is evident in the southeast. According to population and land area, it is Mpumalanga’s largest local municipality.
  • The municipality is located in Mpumalanga’s north-eastern corner and Limpopo’s south-eastern corner, and includes a section of the Kruger National Park. It is a presidential nodal point and the Ehlanzeni District’s third-level administrative division in Mpumalanga.
  • Mopani District Municipality in Limpopo to the north, Nkomazi Local Municipality and Mbombela Local Municipality to the south, Mozambique to the east, and Maruleng Local Municipality and Thaba Chweu Local Municipality to the west surround the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality.

Eligibility criteria for the bursary

  • Citizen of South Africa
  • Currently enrolled in Matriculation OR have finished Matriculation and intend to pursue one of the aforementioned fields of study full-time.
  • Have you applied to or been accepted to a college or university that is accredited?
  • Reside in the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s municipal area
  • A financial need that has been established

Required documents when applying for the bursary

  • ID document/ birth certificate (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
  • Matric June exam results, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration/ acceptance at a higher education institution
  • Parents/ guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed/ pension receipt if retired/ death certificate if deceased/ letter from a social worker if orphaned)
  • Proof of residence
  • If disabled: proof of disability from a registered medical doctor/ hospital/ clinic
