About Ann Latsky Nursing College

The Ann Latsky Nursing College was established in 1951 and was previously known as the Witwatersrand College of Nursing. It was renamed in 1980 after the first principal, Dr. Ann Latsky, who served from 1951 to 1957.

The College is conveniently located near Helen Joseph Hospital and the University of Johannesburg in the Hurst Hill and Auckland Park region.

Entry requirements to Ann Latsky Nursing College

1st Phase:

Senior Certificate

A D HG or C SG English pass rate is required.

A Biology pass rate of D HG or C SG is required.

To get admitted to Phase 2, you must have a minimum of 15 points.

How do you know if you’ve received a 15-point M score?

On your matric certificate, assign marks to your topics and symbols using the following scale:

National Senior Certificate

An English pass rate of at least 50% (level 4), A Life Sciences pass rate of at least 50% (level 4)

A minimum of 25 points is necessary to obtain admission to Phase 2.

Note: Life Orientation is half the original mark. E.g.  6 = 3

If in Grade 12 use your Final Grade 11 Results.

Acceptance into the process is on a trial basis.

The final admittance is contingent on the grade 12 results.

2nd Phase:

You will be invited to an evaluation if you match the criteria in step 1.

Phase three:

Following further shortlisting, all short-listed candidates will be subjected to a mandatory evaluation.

Documents required when applying to Ann Latsky Nursing College

All new applications must be accompanied by:

  • Certified copy of latest school report/statement of results/Grade 12 or N3 certificate.
  • Six certified copies of ID of Learner.
  • Two certified copies of ID of Parent/Guardian.
  • One ID size photo of Learner.

Applications should be submitted as early as possible in the applications cycle, which commences in April of each year.
