About AfriSam Bursary 

The company AfriSam offers a bursary scholarship through its Aggregate and Readymix Operations division. AfriSam was founded in 1934 as Anglo Alpha Cement Ltd and is now known as AfriSam South Africa Pty Ltd. The company changed its name numerous times: in 1996, it was called Alpha Ltd., and in 2004, it was renamed Holcim South Africa. It is now the country’s second-largest cement manufacturer. Swaziland, Botswana, Lesotho, Tanzania, Namibia, and South Africa are among the African countries where the company operates. AfriSam’s work entails the production and distribution of construction materials such as cement, ready-mix, aggregate, plaster, and so on. Concrete pumping, concrete laser flooring, technical help, product development, CPE training, Civil Engineering promotion, and industry board consulting are among the company’s value added services.

Who can apply

Students that are financially disadvantaged are eligible for the AfriSam Bursary Program. 
It is open to anyone looking for full-time opportunity to study in South Africa at authorized schools. 
It is given to students who intend to study mining engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain management, BSC Chemistry, Geology, accounting, and human resources or HR.
The bursary will be available and apply to qualifying students throughout their academic careers, provided that they pass all of the courses they register for. 
The bursary is applicable to the following goods in terms of coverage: 
Fees for registration, tuition, and examinations; books, including any textbooks required for each subject; and fees for residence.

AfriSam Bursary Application Requirements

  • A certified copy of your ID document;
  • If you have completed matric, a certified copy of your matric certificate;
  • If at a tertiary level, a certified copy of your academic record in its whole;
  • A curriculum vitae outlining one’s professional and personal history;
  • A motivational letter explaining why the application is deserving of the bursary, stating the study subject chosen by the applicant, and clarifying the need for financial support
  • A certified copy of the parents’ or guardians’ identification documents
